QooQ Kitchen Tablet to Arrive in the UK

Posted on 17 March 2012

When kitchen gadgets are mentioned the last thing I think about are tablets, but that is exactly what the QOOQ is – a kitchen tablet. You can definitely hand it to the French to make sure that the kitchen does not get left behind in technological advances.

The Qooq Kitchen Tablet works just like any standard tablet allowing you to browse, play, listen to music, and just about anything you can think of. It after all comes with a dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex A9, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, an Ethernet port, USB 2.0, SD/SDHC, and 8GB of integrated storage. What sets it apart as a kitchen tablet though is that it is cook-friendly. With Qooq, you don’t have to worry about finding the perfect tablet case to protect your precious tablet from spills and scratches because it sports a splash proof surface, waterproof buttons and Zamac feet with non-slip blocks. The non-slip blocks are a feature that will be especially useful for chefs who like propping up their tablets in the most questionable places.

Aside from the specialised case, the Qooq kitchen tablet also comes with subscription-based recipes, which you can access for €1.99 per day, €9.99 per month or €99 for a full year. The Qooq recipe database is supposed to be composed of only high-quality recipes, with 1200 of the 3500 recipes in video format.

This high-tech kitchen gadget will be available in the UK by the 2nd half of the year, with pricing still to be announced. Currently the Qooq tablet is already available in France for €349.
