One Cool Camera with Nikon Coolpix S6150

Posted on 04 October 2011

Competition is pretty fierce in the compact camera market, but Nikkon’s Coolpix S6150 can hold its own in terms of features and price. Truth is that the Coolpix S6150 is not the most feature-packed compact camera you will find, but for the typical price of £160 and lower that it is currently selling for, you sure do get value for your money.

So what is it about this camera that makes us happy aside from the low price?

The Nikon Coolpix S6150 is pretty stylish coming in 4 really nice colours (black, pink, red and purple) and a 7.5cm (3-inch) touchscreen LCD. Its touchscreen menu is also well thought-out making it pretty easy to use. It does not lag behind in specs either toting a 16 megapixel CCD image sensor and a NIKKOR wide-angle 7x zoom lens. It also makes use of the EXPEED C2 image processing system ensures high quality images, high-sensitivity performance, and enhanced (HD – 720p) movie recording (with stereo sound). Movie recording is also made very easy with a dedicated movie-record button so that there is no need to access the menu just to start recording. Viewing movies in an external HD device (HDTV) is also possible via the built-in HDMI port.

Other features of this camera include its 4x anti-blur technologies (lens-shift vibration reduction, high ISO, motion detection, Best Shot Selector BSS), a Retouch Menu for on-camera editing, a Smart Potrait system (blink alert, skin softening, red-eye fix), 19 scene modes, a Scene Auto Selector, and Subject Tracking Autofocus.
