Olympus TG-320: Affordable but Super Tough

Posted on 17 January 2012

The CES 2012 saw a whole slew of new cameras on display. With the cameras all excellent in their own way, you’ll be hard-pressed not to be super pleased with at least one camera on display.

One camera that must have surely caught the eye of adventure lovers is Olympus’s latest “Tough” camera – the TG-320. The camera, dubbed as Olympus as being “virtually indestructible”, is definitely hardy being waterproof up to depth of 3m, shockproof to 1.5m, and freezeproof to -10°C.

Though this camera’s main sell maybe its toughness, it offers more than that in specs. True, it won’t be able to hold its own with DSLRs, but it sure compares well enough with other compact cameras. Aside from being “indestructible” this 14-megapixel camera also features 720p HD Movie recording capability, HDMI control, a 2.7″ 230K dot colour LCD, Dual Image Stabilisation, Magic Filter Movie and/or Stills, iAuto and AF Tracking, Face Detection and SAT, 3D Photo Shooting Mode, Beauty Mode, Pet Detection Mode, In-Camera Panorama, Scene Modes, and Eye-Fi Card compatibility. All in all you can say that this camera has all the basic features any amateur photographer needs and just a tad bit more.

What’s even better is that this camera is very reasonably priced at only £139.99. And since the camera is really tough, you can pretty much expect not to need a new camera anytime soon…at least until you feel like an upgrade. But if you’re looking for a touch camera that will give you value for your money, Olympus’ TG-320 is more than enough to answer your needs.
